At a glance
This policy explains how SYNCTECH SP. Z O.O. handles information in Abroad Days, on this website, and when you contact support. The current app has no user account, third-party advertising, behavioral journey analytics, attribution SDK, or developer-operated account, trip, or location backend.
Your saved stays, country totals, calendar, and coordinates are not sent to us or to Expo. The app does contact Apple for country lookup and Expo for compatible app updates, as described below.
Data in the app
Abroad Days stores stay countries, arrival dates, departure dates, country totals, and app preferences in an ordinary SQLite database inside the iOS app sandbox. You can add stays manually, approve history suggested from Photos, or opt in to automatic country tracking. The flag calendar and country totals use the same editable history. An optional Schengen Stay limit performs date arithmetic from that history.
Automatic tracking is optional. After you choose it, the app asks first for location access while it is open and then for Always access for low-power updates while it is closed. Sparse coordinates are stored in the local database. During a later foreground synchronization, the app asks iOS to identify the country and civil date. It clears coordinates after successful resolution. An unresolved observation remains on the device for a later foreground retry so possible travel history is not silently discarded.
Automatic history is an estimate. iOS may deliver observations late or not at all, and country lookup can be uncertain near borders. You can review and edit every stay, add missing dates manually, turn tracking off, or use the app without location access.
We do not receive coordinates or country history. Country lookup uses Apple's iOS geocoder, which may send location information to Apple and its partners under Apple's Location Services privacy terms.
Optional history from Photos
After you choose Photos import and read its explanation, the app requests access to photo dates and locations for the most recent 12 months. The scanner reads metadata on your iPhone. Photos are not uploaded or copied. Review thumbnails are loaded only when you open them; cloud-only originals are not requested by the scanner.
Photo coordinates are used temporarily for Apple country and timezone lookup, as described above, and are never written to the app database. This lookup is not completely offline. Unfinished imports keep temporary country/date evidence and photo references on your iPhone so you can resume and review. Completing, cancelling or discarding an import deletes that staging and its photo references. Pausing keeps it for recovery. Standard device backups may retain earlier data; deletion is not a forensic erase guarantee.
Nothing enters History until you approve it. A photo supports one moment, not an entire stay; missing days are never filled between sparse photos. Approved dates become editable stays. Import summaries and the IDs of created stays are retained for undo, without photo references. You can change Photos access in iPhone Settings, select more photos when access is limited, and undo the last import from Settings in the app. Stays edited after import are preserved by undo.
Software update checks
EAS Update contacts Expo to request compatible software and app assets. An update request can include a persistent app-scoped EAS Client ID, ordinary request and device information, app and build information, and a bounded string describing a prior fatal launch error when one occurred. Expo aggregates update-check usage. These requests do not include your saved stays, dates, country totals, calendar, or coordinates. Expo handles this information under its privacy policy.
The App Store privacy label reflects this update mechanism as Product Interaction, Device ID, Crash Data, and Other Diagnostic Data used for App Functionality and Analytics.
Local records are covered by iOS Data Protection. Standard iPhone backups may include app data according to your iOS and iCloud settings. Data remains on the device until you delete records or delete the app. Deleting the app removes its local sandbox from that device.
CSV and sharing
CSV import and export happen only after you choose the action. Exported CSV is plain text. When you send it to Files, Mail, cloud storage, or another app, that destination handles the file under its own privacy and security terms.
We do not receive a CSV merely because you export it.
Website and support data
This website has no account or contact form and does not set its own tracking cookies. It is hosted by Vercel, which may process basic request information such as IP address, device or browser data, requested URL, and timestamps to deliver and protect the service under its own privacy practices.
If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and anything you choose to attach. We use it to answer the request, troubleshoot the product, prevent abuse, and meet legal duties. Do not send travel history unless it is necessary and you are comfortable sharing it.
Your choices and rights
You can edit or delete stays, export a copy as CSV, or delete the app to remove its local database. You can also stop automatic tracking in the app and change location access in iPhone Settings. We cannot retrieve or delete a travel history we never receive.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal data we do hold—primarily support correspondence—including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and a complaint to your data-protection authority.
Children
Abroad Days is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal information through the app.
